Nick Zombie

Nick Zombie lives in São Paulo and works with traditional illustration and graffiti.

Bio
Nick Zombie, a São Paulo artist, began his career around 1997, using walls as the canvas for his graffiti. His pursuit of growth has not ceased, and today he divides his time between walls, canvases, paper, and digital drawings. Graffiti is fundamentally important to his work, as it is a collective creation influenced by passersby and fellow artists, fostering a greater sense of ego detachment.

In his canvas work, Nick uses oil paint for its slower process, which becomes a kind of "mantra" based on calmness. This more intimate process forces him to constantly think of new solutions for his works. His drawings, both digital and those done in ink and pencil, represent the beginning of everything. He values the lines before the colors, seeing in the gesture of the line his own soul.

The main theme of all his work is the spirit, the search for peace. The patterns and symbols used always refer to the center, and the figures portrayed are mostly androgynous, allowing greater freedom of interpretation by those who view his work.
